Are Humans Instinctively Collectivist?

In this edition, Nic asks whether human beings inherently want to collectivise.

We ask the further questions: If this is indeed the case, is it built in? Or is it the result of indoctrination?

We mull over what collectivism really means, and if it’s compatible with a libertarian society.

We then talk about collectivisation in action, with examples of public sector contracts, before talking about how failing (and, in particular, failing quickly) can help businesses. Something that is absent from state bureaucracies.

The Uniqueness of Human Thought and Win-Win Transactions

Why is it that only humans trade?  In this edition, we discuss how the human capacity to think has lead us to invent the concepts of specialisation and exchange, and that there is a common fallacy that trade transactions aren’t in fact Win-Win.
