fact checking

Why doesn’t SAGE model positive scenarios?

It’s a week before Christmas, and the veil has been lifted once more on the decision making at the highest levels of government in the UK.

In a rare moment on twitter, the head of modelling for the government’s SAGE committee admitted that it would be essentially pointless to model positive outcomes of covid this winter, and that actually it’s policy makers that decide what to model.

We discuss that decision making process and how it’s only designed to go in one direction.

Nic thinks this is one of many examples where the tide is starting to turn, but will a good old fashioned lockdown be enough to dissuade people again?

From Facebook fact checks to Libertarian Party politics, we wrap up 2021 with the most positive message we can give – don’t comply, and have a very merry Christmas.

Power Corrupts

So called “Fact Checking” goes up a notch with a tweet from Zuby posted on his instragram that fails this nonsense measure of reality. Are we getting to a point where some platforms just won’t be worth using any more? Is this what they want? Is there an alternative or are more and more people going to end up like Nic and just rarely post anywhere.

And let it be known we don’t shirk from the most difficult of philosophical freedom questions. How far would you go in your destruction of things you consider bad?

Nic gets snap-happy with Thanos’s glove again, and Andrew challenges him on his philosophy that what he thinks is right (destroying all “vaccines”) isn’t compatible with personal choice.

But is it that simple when the government has stolen the money to produce these dangerous treatments and is coercing people to take them, to their detriment? At what point does it become self defence, and can you come to the defence of others without their explicit permission?

US Elections, Social Media And The Desperate Corporate Press

After a brief hiatus (circuit break?) due to work commitments, we’re back, and we’re raring to go.

This time, we talk about the recent US Election. We discuss the results and whether they appear, on the face of it, to be slightly dodgy. We then discuss the corporate press (legacy media), fact checkers and the way things have changed, even over the past few years.

We finish with a recent experience Nic has with being banned from Twitter for saying mean words to someone who was in on the joke and found it funny. Strange times.
